About The Country Club

The Country Club exists to divert its members by recording and comparing members’ travels. There are 195 UN Member States/Official Observor, and we are trying to visit them all. Check our progress on the Club Ladder, to the right, or by clicking the link for the List of Countries Visited below that. Curious how we count? Click The Country Club By-Laws link.

Earle chased by Zwaan

Mr Earle reported his 79th country visit to your secretary in person, at 40,000 feet in KLM's business class from Amsterdam to Washington. He and the Mrs celebrated their 22nd anniversary in the Czech Republic. Beer was taken. Photos thereof, we hope, are forthcoming.

Mr van der Zwaan reported by text message visits to North Korea (v/d Z described it as "most unique", quite!), Australia and Singapore, bringing him to tie for fourth with yours truly at 77 countries. Photos have not yet been submitted because, apparently, v/d Z is in the midst of a "Baltic Hat Trick". Details forthcoming.

  1. Gentlemen, Just back from a Baltic itineray, where not only in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius the respective local beers were consumed, but the vicinity of Belarus was exploited as well to enjoy the ever tasteful combination of vodka and caviar. Early June I paid a wonderful visit to Australia, with lovely wine, and my 1.5 hour stop-over in Singapore proved enough to travel down-town and drink a fresh local brew called "Archipelago". All this largely outshadowed, however, by yours truly visit to Pyongyang - see attached photo - where glasses of rice wine were perfect beverages to top the excellent Korean cuisine. Cheers! Bob
